The City of Manhattan Beach is now accepting applications for the position of Senior Plan Check Engineer. This position is located in the Building & Safety Division of the Community Development Department. The Senior Plan Check Engineer performs varied building and engineering design plan checks and related plan documents. Trains, assigns, and reviews plan checks performed by the Plan Check Engineer, inspection staff, and contract Plan Check consultants.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. A Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is desirable.
Training & Experience: Three (3) years of responsible professional experience involving building and engineering plan check.
Licenses, Certificates and Special Requirements:
- Valid California Class "C" license at time of employment
- Certification within two years of date of hire
- State of California registration as a Professional Civil Engineer or licensed Architect with the California Architects Board
- International Conference of Building Officials Certification or other recognized Plan Examiner Certification is highly desirable.
