Live at Manhattan Beach Art Center Advertising ElementThe Manhattan Beach Art Center (MBAC) is excited to present LIVE, a free series of Thursday night community-building activities designed to enhance artistic skills and develop presentation confidence in local artists. LIVE is open to everyone ages 16 and up and occurs on the first and last Thursday of the month. The first Thursday of the month will feature Costume Figure Drawing and Open Mic is every last Thursday of the month from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Parking is available in the Manhattan Beach Art Center parking lot.

Costume Figure Drawing (First Thursday of the Month)
Hang out with your friends and work on your figure drawing skills with a live costumed model. No instructors and no pressure – draw as you feel! Attendees should bring their own materials; easels will be provided if necessary. (A $12 donation for Costume Figure Drawing models is suggested)

Open Mic Series (Last Thursday of the Month)
No experience? No problem! LIVE Open Mic is open to everyone —– beginners and old timers alike —– to practice and hone their skills in front of a like-minded, easy-going audience. Whether you’re a poet, musician, comedian, performance artist, or just have something to say, this is where you’re encouraged to emerge. Although we respect free speech, we ask performers to refrain from advertising/promoting businesses, displaying nudity, hate speech and proselytizing.

For more information, please contact the Manhattan Beach Art Center (310) 802-5440.

ART As ExperienceArt as Experience Theme Picture

Art as Experience is a welcoming and inclusive family program that serves to expand visitors' experiences beyond looking and talking about art. The FREE hands-on art activities promote experimentation and exploration. Workshops are developed in correlation with exhibitions on display at the Manhattan Beach Art Center. The workshops are held on the first and third Saturday of the month between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM. Advanced registration is required.
