A musical tribute to Tony Bennett, Bette Midler, Barbara Streisand, and Bobby Darin performed by a professional, seasoned cast who are "dead ringers" for their real-life counterparts and impersonate the performers using their own voices. This jammed packed show comes to the Camelot Theatre in Palm Spring. The trip allows you time for lunch on your own in downtown Palm Springs. Pick up and drop off will be at both Joslyn Community Center (JCC) and Manhattan Heights Park (MHP)

Join us for a day of thoroughbred racing at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. Our group will have reserved tables in the Club Court area of the Clubhouse, a program and a professional handicapper on hand to go over the day's race. We'll enjoy a special meal. Be transported to the end of the 19th Century! We will visit the historically significant Heritage Square Museum with eight restored buildings from different Los Angeles neighborhoods. After, we will travel to the Grier-Musser Museum--an elegant showcase of the Victorian period. Finally, we will have lunch at Philippe's! Join us as we travel to Torrance Theater to watch the play Charley's Aunt. Charley's Aunt centers two Oxford undergraduates in search of chaperone for a proper visit from their girlfriends. Jack and Charley manage to persuade fellow undergraduate Fan-court "Babbs" Babberley to impersonate a millionaire aunt in this hilarious tale of young love and preposterous deception.

Did you ever imagine you could travel the world by taking the short Dial-a-Ride trip to the Marsee Auditorium in nearby Torrance? The stage is set for high adventure as we prepare to travel the globe. As part of the El Camino College Discovery World Travel Adventure Series, you will meet adventurous filmmakers as they present their films that capture the beauty and majesty of many remote and exotic locations. You will feel the rhythm of distant lands; acquire a taste for exotic dishes; see and explore worlds of wonder right here at home!

Topics range from the enchantment of Eastern Europe at Christmastime and the sunny Caribbean, to New Zealand’s two remote and spectacular islands and the ancient mystery of the Nile, from Southern California’s hidden treasures to the lure of the New England Coastline, and many more. The Discovery World Travel Adventure Series is armchair adventuring at its best, captured by these renowned world travelers and cinematographers. Enjoy professional, full-color films with live commentary by the filmmakers. These films can be informative and educational for young people as well as adults. Take advantage of this inexpensive way to enjoy people and places from all over the globe. The programs start at 3:00 PM and are $9.00 per film for seniors. About Bus Trips
The Parks and Recreation Department plans many exciting and fun bus trips to various locations throughout the year that allow community members to economically visit some of the region's popular and unique destinations. Trips are designed for specific age and interest groups including youth ages 6 to 12 years old, teens ages 12 to 14 years old, adults and seniors. Most trips are to destinations that can be reached in two hours or less and each trip is led by one or two Parks and Recreation staff members and a trained volunteer who act as tour guides. Excursions are listed according to date with an indication if the trip is limited to a single age group. Click on a specific item to find out more information about the trip. Please call the Parks and Recreation Department at (310) 802-5448 or email if you have questions after reviewing the trip descriptions, rules and regulations.

Registration for bus excursions can be done online or at the Parks and Recreation Department located at City Hall (1400 Highland Avenue, Manhattan Beach) Monday through Thursday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM; alternate Fridays 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (City Hall is closed every other Friday starting April 1, 2016).  Registrations for certain trips such as "Mini-Bus Trips" are done directly through the Older Adults Program by calling (310) 802-5430 or stopping by the Older Adults office at the Joslyn Community Center, 1601 North Valley Drive, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.

Types of Bus Trips

Registration Information

There are no assigned seats; there are two pick up locations. IF YOU RIDE THE BUS WITH US, THEN YOU RIDE BACK WITH US.  All participants must bring their bus trip receipt and photo identification on all bus excursions.

Refund Policy
All refunds are subject to a $25 administration fee. Refunds after the trip deadline will be made only when your reservation can be filled from the waiting list or by a person designated by you. Replacement's name and waiver form must be in our office 24 hours prior to tour departure or in case of a Sunday/Monday departure no later than 12:00 PM on Wednesday. Due to insurance reasons there can be no passenger substitutions the day of the tour.
