Established by resolution, the Parks & Recreation Commission is responsible for the recreational needs of all citizens, and shall promote supervised public recreation within the City. Consists of seven (7) members: five (5) at large members, one (1) representative from Manhattan Beach Unified School District, and one (1) student representative, who meet on the 4th Monday of every month at 6:00 PM.

Seat 7, Mira High School Student, member serves a maximum of one year.
** Members appointed to fill a vacancy with less than 18 months remaining in the term are automatically reappointed to a three-year term without additional Council action.
*** If a vacant seat had 18 months or more remaining in its original term, the member would complete the original term and then be eligible for reappointment to one succeeding three-year term.

Join VOICE members and City staff to find out how you can participate in Edison's Demand Response programs, and save money on your electric bills!
A special presentation will start off the VOICE Earth Day planning meeting on Monday, March 3rd at 7:00 PM in the Manhattan Beach Police and Fire Community Room. The public is invited to attend and learn about energy conservation through Edison's Demand Response program.
Following the presentation, the VOICE committee will discuss plans for the upcoming Earth Day Celebration in Polliwog Park on Saturday, April 26th. Come get involved in this great community effort! (Free parking is available adjacent to City Hall via the 15th Street parking lot entrance.)
