Established by resolution, the Parks & Recreation Commission is responsible for the recreational needs of all citizens, and shall promote supervised public recreation within the City. Consists of seven (7) members: five (5) at large members, one (1) representative from Manhattan Beach Unified School District, and one (1) student representative, who meet on the 4th Monday of every month at 6:00 PM.

*** If a vacant seat had 18 months or more remaining in its original term, the member would complete the original term and then be eligible for reappointment to one succeeding three-year term.

Free Class at the Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden

Is your garden missing important nutrients? Learn the basics of gardening to promote water Conservation, Permeability, and Retention (CPR). These three easy steps will help save you money, enrich the soil without chemicals, and create more native habitats -- and a fabulous garden.

This free class is located in the Amphitheater in the center of the Botanical Garden, on the west side of Polliwog Park. Free Parking next to the Botanical Garden on Peck Avenue, or the adjacent lot at the end of Peck Avenue off Manhattan Beach Boulevard.
