Live Oak Park (LOP) Activity: Elbow Tag
The goal of this variation of tag is to be the last person in the game left untagged. This game is played on basketball courts or a field.

  • One person is designated as "it."
  • You must tag on their elbow using your elbow.
  • Once someone has been tagged, that person will link arms with the person who tagged him or her. Now they both are "it."
  • They will continue tagging everyone and linking arms until there is only 1 person left untagged.
  • The winner is the last person who does not get tagged for the entire course of the game.

Manhattan Heights Park (MHP) Activity: Rabbit Hunter
The players or “rabbits” line up on the end line while the “hunters” stand in the hula hoops with the dodge balls. On the command “hunting season” the rabbits try to run through the field to the other side without being hunted/hit by the hunters who are trying to throw the balls at the rabbits. If a rabbit is hit below the waist they must sit down and act as hunters helpers who try to tag the other rabbits as they run by. The rabbits who cross the field safely to the other end will be commanded to participate in “hunting season,” again until there are only two rabbits left. The last two rabbits become the new hunters in the next game. Hint: There can be more than two hunters or 4 balls if desired.

The REC Program is a user-pay program open to children ages 6 to 12 or children in grades 1st through 5th. Children will be participating in self-directed and organized recreational activities designed to positively impact social connections, human development, and lifelong learning. All activities are supervised by trained CPR certified recreation leaders. REC Program ratio: 1 leader per 13 children.
