Live Oak Park (LOP) Activity: Dragons Tail
Dragon Tail tag is a version of tag or chase. This game encourages the REC participants to work together as a team. Everyone will be split into teams of four or more and form chains by linking arms or holding onto each others' waists or shoulders. The last player in each chain will be given a scarf, bandanna, or long sock to act as a "tail." Those players will hold the "tails" their free hand. Each chain is now a Dragon. The Dragons will scatter across a playing area. When the REC Leader shouts, "Go!" the Dragons chase each other, trying to grab opponents' tails (while protecting their own tails too). Only the first player in the dragon chain can grab another team's tail. Each team's chain must stay unbroken and the winner is the last dragon with a tail.

Manhattan Heights Park (MHP) Activity: Swamp Relay
Players are separated into two teams. Each team gets a set of lily pads and the objective of the game is to get across the swamp using the lily pads. Each team has to work together to figure out how to get their whole team across. There is one person in the middle who is the alligator and when a player is not on a lily pad the alligator can come up and take it.

The REC Program is a user-pay program open to children ages 6 to 12 or children in grades 1st through 5th. Children will be participating in self-directed and organized recreational activities designed to positively impact social connections, human development, and lifelong learning. All activities are supervised by trained CPR certified recreation leaders. REC Program ratio: 1 leader per 13 children.
