Temporary Roundhouse Aquarium Trailer Installation

Manhattan Beach, CA (December 1, 2017) – On Monday, December 4, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., a temporary Aquarium Trailer Building Facility (see below) will be delivered and installed at the lower Pier south parking lot area in Manhattan Beach.

Roundhouse temp trailer

This trailer will temporarily house a portion of the exhibits and marine life from the current Roundhouse Aquarium while it undergoes significant restoration from January through May, 2018. Those animals not housed in the trailer will be temporarily rehomed at other nearby aquaria for the duration of construction. The temporary aquarium will be open to the public where visitors will continue to be able to explore marine life. You can find specific information about its hours on the Roundhouse Aquarium website.

During delivery of the trailer on Monday, December 4 between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., parking at the lower Pier Parking lots and along Manhattan Beach Blvd. west of Manhattan Ave will not be available. There will be temporary rolling road closures along Manhattan Beach Blvd from Ardmore Ave to Ocean Drive in order to complete the delivery of the trailer to its temporary location. The City appreciates the patience and cooperation of its residents, visitors and businesses during the delivery and installation. This is one step towards completion of the extraordinary restoration project of the City’s iconic landmarks – our Manhattan Beach Pier and Roundhouse Aquarium.

Please contact the Engineering Division’s Project Manager, Gilbert Gamboa at (310) 802-5356 for additional questions or concerns relating to this project, as well as delivery and installation of the temporary trailer.
