The holiday season is a busy time - the following resources may assist you with your solid waste needs over the next several weeks:

Holiday Tree Recycling
Waste Management will collect and recycle fresh cut holiday trees. Between December 26, 2018 and January 12, 2019, residents may place holiday trees next to their carts before 7:30 AM on their regular collection date for free pick-up and recycling. Trees must be less than 7 feet long or cut into 7-foot sections (neither Waste Management nor City employees can cut trees for residents). Please remove all lights, decorations, tinsel, ornaments, and metal stands. Flocked trees will be collected at the curb but cannot be recycled.
Artificial Tree Collection
If you have an artificial tree that needs to be collected, please contact Waste Management directly to schedule a bulky-item pick-up. Residents must schedule the bulky pick-up for artificial trees or other bulky items. Bulky pick ups are no additional charge; contact Waste Management a minimum of 48 hours prior to your regular collection date (bulky items are collected on regular collection days).
Holiday Light Recycling
Holiday lights are considered E-waste. E-waste can be collected by Waste Management at the curb for free by appointment. Please contact Waste Management Customer Service at (310) 830-7100 to schedule an E-waste pick up. Collection is performed by a separate truck, typically on the residents regular collection day.
Hazardous Waste Collection
Do you have unwanted Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) such as paint, chemicals, solvents, thermometers, batteries, compact fluorescent bulbs, medicine, etc.? Dispose of HHW safely for recycling! Manhattan Beach residents have doorstep and drop-off options. Click here to get all the 411 on safe HHW disposal and recycling!
Additional Refuse Collection
Waste Management will collect any additional trash and recycling materials that do not fit in a resident’s carts for two weeks following Christmas Day. This allowance was designed to assist residents with the refuse overflow which naturally happens during the holiday season. Extra materials should be placed in bags, adjacent to the container they represent (extra bags of trash next to trash cart, extra bags of recycling next to recycling cart, etc.). All boxes should still be broken down. Bulky items such as furniture or appliances need to be scheduled for pick up by contacting WM Customer Service at (310) 830-7100.
Modified Collection Schedules
Waste Management observes both Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Collection services will be delayed by one day for routes from December 25 - 28, 2018 and from January 1 - 4, 2019. If you have questions regarding your refuse service please contact Waste Management directly at (310) 830-7100. Check out all the holidays observed by Waste Management which will affect service days.
