New City Logo
Press Release: Manhattan Beach Unveils New City Logo
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Manhattan Beach, CA (July 29, 2019) – The City of Manhattan Beach has launched a new logo, marking the most dramatic change in its visual identity since 1961, when the current City Seal was adopted. Using the City’s iconic pier and vibrant hues of blues and orange, the logo reflects the look and feel of the City today and complements the City Seal.
“The new City logo is a reflection of our great City. It is strong, beautiful, colorful, and provides a sense of civic pride for residents and staff,” said Mayor Nancy Hersman.
Designed in-house, the new visual identity presents the City as a California beach town with a balanced, laid-back, classic, upscale, and family-friendly lifestyle, while paying homage to its past. The logo reflects the strength and direction of the City of Manhattan Beach, which is dedicated to providing exemplary municipal services, preserving its small beach town character and enhancing the quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors. The benefits of a single, strong City logo provide greater consistency and efficiencies for staff by allowing for in-house design and brand management.
Join the City of Manhattan Beach on August 5 with its grand opening of “Branded Manhattan Beach,” a pop-up retail shop located at City Hall. The shop will feature quality products, such as T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, coffee mugs, and coasters that include the new City Logo. Prices for the items range from $6.95 for a coaster to $39.95 for a hoodie. Additional items will become seasonally available throughout the year. The City store will be located in the main lobby of City Hall and open during business hours (Monday through Thursday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM). Additional pop-up shops will be held at City Special Events, such as the Pumpkin Race, Concerts in the Park, 6Man, and Manhattan Beach Open. In the future, the City anticipates collaborating with local merchants and developing licensing agreements to use the Manhattan Beach logo on products to sell in their stores.
