Manhattan Beach Mayor Pro Tem Richard Montgomery Appointed
President of Independent Cities Association
Manhattan Beach, CA (October 2, 2019) – Manhattan Beach Mayor Pro Tem Richard Montgomery has been appointed President of the Independent Cities Association (ICA) at the 2019 ICA President and Board Installation event on September 27, 2019.
“I’m honored to serve as President of the Independent Cities Association and look forward to working together with like-minded independent cities in the region to collaborate and advocate toward public safety, infrastructure and economic development initiatives,” said Mayor Pro Tem Montgomery. This marks the second time Mayor Pro Tem Montgomery has been appointed, as he previously served as President of the ICA from 2010-2011.
ICA is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit corporation founded in 1960. ICA is made up of nearly 40 member cities in the Southern California area and an 18-member Board of Directors. The organization focuses on issues such as: public safety, education, infrastructure, legislative advocacy, intergovernmental relationships and other major issues that transcend the boundaries of its member cities. ICA holds seminars bringing together city council members, city officials and business partners for the purpose of collaboration, networking, and knowledge exchange.
