Air Quality AlertsSouth Coast Air Quality Management District is helping Manhattan Beach residents make clean air choices that will help reduce air pollution, including knowing when it’s important to curtail use of wood-burning fireplaces and fire pits.  While air quality has improved tremendously over the past few decades, the Los Angeles basin continues to have days where pollutants reach unhealthy levels.  Bad air quality in Los Angeles can not only inhibit the clear skies and ruin views from our coast, but it also can contribute to harmful diseases like asthma, lung disease, and cancer in some cases.  It is important for Manhattan Beach residents to stay up to date on air quality conditions in order to limit their own contributions.

Stay in the know with South Coast AQMD’s Air Alerts and remember to check before you burn!
