A Planning Commission Public Hearing for formal consideration of the Skechers Final EIR, and Use Permit applications for the Manhattan Beach components of the project located at 305 and 330 South Sepulveda Boulevard, occurred on February 14, 2018, and March 14, 2018. Resolutions approving the EIR, 330 component, and 305 component were each adopted as attached to the March 14th report. The Planning Commission decisions became final on March 29, 2018. Skechers USA, Inc. proposed a large-scale commercial office development project in the Cities of Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach, along Pacific Coast Highway and Sepulveda Boulevard respectively. The findings of the Initial Study showed the proposed project could have potentially significant impacts to the area, and a Draft EIR was prepared, noticed, and circulated for public comments in July/August 2017. The Final EIR responds to those comments, and has updated appendix documents, including a traffic study (Appendix F - Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4), with specific environmental analysis details. A hard copy of the Final EIR is also available for review at the Hermosa Beach Community Development Department, 1315 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach, CA, 90254. For preparation of the EIR, the City of Hermosa Beach is the Lead Agency coordinating with the City of Manhattan Beach. The Hermosa Beach Planning Commission certified the Final EIR (as lead agency) at a public hearing at Hermosa Beach City Hall, on January 31, 2018.
