The City of Manhattan Beach prides itself on being a pioneer and leader in green and sustainable living. Since 2008, the City has had a strong presence in the region’s environmental stewardship, and has adopted programs and policies that set the example for neighboring communities to follow.
In addition, each City Department has made efforts to operate more sustainably. Whether that means simple things like recycling, double-sided printing, or remembering to turn off lights and computers when not in use, we are striving to set an example of what it means to be sustainable. You will find environmental information and tips throughout each of our Department web pages. To assist you in finding some of this information, please visit the webpages below. The City has also hosted several environmental festivals and outreach programs to educate the community on sustainability, a few of which are highlighted below.
- Public Works Environmental Programs
- Community Development: Greening Your City
