Community Arts Grants

The City of Manhattan Beach Cultural Arts Commission serves to encourage, develop and facilitate an enriched environment of artistic, creative and cultural activity in the City of Manhattan Beach. As a component of many services and activities, the Cultural Arts Commission facilitates a program to provide financial support to organizations, schools and individuals for various projects through a competitive application and review process.

The Community Arts Grants Program is designed to fund projects and activities that provide quality arts and cultural enrichment within the City of Manhattan Beach.

 

 


Holiday Art MarketHoliday Art Market

Get your holiday shopping done early all while supporting local artists at the annual Holiday Art Market. Find unusual, one-of-a-kind art pieces for that special person in your life.

The Holiday Art Market consist of handmade artwork by Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation students, instructors and staff! Artwork will include ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, decor, fashion and more. Enjoy drinks, refreshments and light snacks, while shopping local and supporting local artists.

Manhattan Beach, CA – Homeira Goldstein and TIME4ART with support of the Manhattan Beach Art Center are thrilled to present “IMMERSIO”, an exhibition featuring a collection of mixed media, immersive and sculptural works, from internationally renowned painter, sculptor, installation artist, Claudia Meyer.

Holiday Succulent Wreath
Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Decorate your home with a unique, handmade wreath, filled with dramatic succulents. Because of their resistance to drought, succulents are the perfect living plant for your holiday wreath. Students will assemble a wreath with succulents, grape vines and other decorative elements while learning how to care for and propagate succulents. All materials and plants are included. Instructor: Parks and Recreation Staff. Location: Manhattan Beach Art Center

Gingerbread House Workshop

Bring your Gingerbread House Centerpiece to life! Workshop includes 10" gingerbread house, frosting, candy, and mini-holiday decorations. Instructor: Parks and Recreation Staff; Location: Manhattan Heights Park Community Center - Mt. Whitney Banquet Hall. Pre-registration required.

Join in the holiday spirit by making handmade crafts and ornaments with the whole family! There will also be special craft projects available courtesy of the Cultural Arts Division. Enjoy delicious food, special treats, and hot cocoa. Come dressed to impress as Santa will be coming by for a holiday visit. Don’t miss out on some old fashioned family fun. Register early as space is limited.

Live at Manhattan Beach Art Center Advertising ElementThe Manhattan Beach Art Center (MBAC) is excited to present LIVE, a free series of Thursday night community-building activities designed to enhance artistic skills and develop presentation confidence in local artists. LIVE is open to everyone ages 16 and up and occurs on the first Thursday of the month. The first Thursday of the month will feature Costumed Figure Drawing (6:00 PM to 9:00 PM). Parking is available in the Manhattan Beach Art Center parking lot.

Costumed Figure Drawing (First Thursday of the Month)
Hang out with your friends and work on your figure drawing skills with a live costumed model. No instructors and no pressure – draw as you feel! Attendees should bring their own materials; easels will be provided if necessary. (A $12 donation for models is suggested)
