Celebrate national Parks and Rec Month and discover everything Manhattan Beach has to offer! Revel with leisure, hidden gems and hot spots through the eyes and lenses of local artists. Enjoy original artwork, by the community in a variety of mediums, that shows what makes the City a desirable place to live and visit. This exhibition is a portrait of Manhattan Beach and its progressive, laid back lifestyle familiar to all!
Concerts in the Park
June 30th through September 1st
Opening Teen Band: 3:45 PM to 4:30 PM
Main Band: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
The Manhattan Beach Concerts in the Park presented by OneWest Bank is an annual event held each year at Polliwog Park.
Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics, then sit back and relax to the sounds of summer! Concerts in the Park begins at 3:45 PM with local teen bands until 4:30 PM, the headlining band will begin at 5:00 PM and ends at 7:00 PM. Seating is first come, first served! Concerts in the Park are free and well attended; early arrival to obtain prime lawn seating is encouraged.
Concert goers are asked to leave pets at home. Use low backed chairs to minimize visibility issues behind you. Don't block the aisles. Be courteous to others. No smoking in the park. Watch your children, keep them off the stage and the stage apron. Climbing the trees in the park is not permitted. Place your trash in the bins throughout the park. NO-- pets, barbecues, skateboards, scooters, or roller blades are allowed in the park. Concert staff and security are not responsible for unattended chairs blankets and other picnic items. Please do not remove items (chairs, blankets, etc.) that do not belong to you.
Parking: Please note parking can be difficult around the park during the concert series. Carpooling, walking and use of taxi/rideshare is encouraged. All handicap parking will be at Begg Pool parking lot and there will be a rideshare/taxi pick-up and drop-off area on Manhattan Beach Boulevard. Download the 2019 Concerts in the Park map (PDF).

Holiday Succulent Pumpkin

Create a one of a kind living centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table. Students will learn to arrange, care for and propagate a variety of succulents. This amazing succulent centerpiece can last up to 6 months! All materials and supplies to make a stunning succulent arrangement will be provided.
Holiday Succulent Wreath

Decorate your home with a unique, handmade wreath, filled with dramatic succulents. Because of their resistance to drought, succulents are the perfect living plant for your holiday wreath. Students will assemble a wreath with succulents, grape vines and other decorative elements while learning how to care for and propagate succulents. All materials and plants are included. Instructor: Parks and Recreation Staff. Location: Manhattan Beach Art Center
Gingerbread House Workshop

Bring your Gingerbread House Centerpiece to life ! Workshop includes 10" gingerbread house, frosting, candy, and mini-holiday decorations. Instructor: Parks and Recreation Staff; Location: Manhattan Beach Art Center. Pre-registration required.
The Manhattan Beach Art Center (MBAC) is excited to present LIVE, a free series of Thursday night community-building activities designed to enhance artistic skills and develop presentation confidence in local artists. LIVE is open to everyone ages 16 and up and occurs on the first Thursday of the month. The first Thursday of the month will feature Costumed Figure Drawing (6:00 PM to 9:00 PM). Parking is available in the Manhattan Beach Art Center parking lot.
Costumed Figure Drawing (First Thursday of the Month)
Hang out with your friends and work on your figure drawing skills with a live costumed model. No instructors and no pressure – draw as you feel! Attendees should bring their own materials; easels will be provided if necessary. (A $12 donation for models is suggested)
