Captain Tim HagemanCaptain Hageman
Administration/Investigations Bureau

Captain Tim Hageman has served the Manhattan Beach Police Department since 1991, and currently oversees the Administration/Investigations Bureau. Tim’s career began in the United States military, where he served for four years in the United States Air Force, including two years in England. Upon exiting the military, he worked for three years as a Deputy Marshal for the County of Los Angeles. He joined the Manhattan Beach Police Department in 1991.  He was promoted to the rank of Captain in August 2013.

During his career with the Manhattan Beach Police Department, Tim has held a variety of positions, including working closely with local schools for eight years as a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) Officer and as a School Resource Officer. He has served as a Detective and Field Training Officer and is a trained Drug Recognition Expert. He has also served as a member of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team and the Crisis Negotiation Team.

Captain Hageman was born and raised in the South Bay. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree and Master's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University.  He is also a graduate of POST Command College.  Tim lives in the South Bay with his wife and two daughters.


Captain Christian Eichenlaub Captain Eichenlaub
Field Operations Bureau

Captain Christian Eichenlaub has served the Manhattan Beach Police Department since 2000, and currently oversees the Field Operations Bureau. He was promoted to the rank of Captain in May 2018.  Christian is an 18-year veteran of the Manhattan Beach Police Department. Prior to joining the Manhattan Beach Police Department, he spent five years as a Custody Deputy with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department and one year as a Reserve Officer for the Santa Monica Police Department.

Christian has served as a Motor Officer and  SWAT Commander.  Collateral assignments throughout his career have included Honor Guard, Beach Patrol, SWAT Team member, South Bay Platoon, Firearms Instructor, Use of Force Instructor.  

Captain Eichenlaub holds a Masters Degree in Business from Trident University. Captain Eichenlaub is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, POST Command College, POST Supervisory Leadership Institute, and POST Executive Development.  When he is not at work, Christian enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, and staying active in physical fitness activities.
