Started in 2011, the Mayor's Youth Council (MYC) brings together high school students and professional leaders to explore leadership, careers, and civic engagement. Each month, participants have the opportunity to meet and talk with leaders in business, media, science, technology, entertainment, government, philanthropy, cultural arts, and education.

  • Engage students with leaders in private, public and philanthropic career arenas;
  • Share the wisdom, ways and diversity of leadership;
  • Stimulate and feed curiosity and creativity; and
  • Cultivate interest in civic stewardship.

The program will commence with the school year each September and run through May. Students will meet on a regularly scheduled evening, once per month, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Each workshop will feature a different leader, or a panel in some cases, who will work with the participants through interactive discussion, sub-groups and activities.

Information regarding participation and applications can be found on the Mayor's Youth Council website.
