Volunteerism is a vital resource in Manhattan Beach. Volunteers allow the City to augment its workforce by enhancing the provision of services to the community. Residents who volunteer with the City not only help provide a richer quality of life for their community but they learn the intricacies of how a municipal government operates.
Each volunteer contributes unique skills to his or her assignment. This experience may also contribute to individual development and personal fulfillment and enhance job skills.
The City prides itself on recruiting the highest caliber volunteers and uses a formal screening process that includes completing an application form, finger printing, and a security check. This ensures the safety of our residents and helps maintain the integrity of our programs. Potential volunteers may be interviewed for the position for which they are applying. Please contact Michelle Ami-Cortez, Volunteer Coordinator at (310) 802-5462 or visit the Parks and Recreation Employment Opportunities webpage for opportunity listings.
